AI in PR Practice:  Issues and Trends in 2026

This presentation discusses the leading issues facing AI use in public relations practice.  Topics include managing AI in online reputation management, AI summaries, token use in AI, and impact of AI on the current communications workforce.  

Dr. Cayce Myers is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at Virginia Tech School of Communication where he teaches public relations.  He is the author of eight books and numerous journal articles and chapters focusing on public relations, strategy, AI, law, and ethics.  He has served as a member of the PRSA National Board of Directors representing the Mid-Atlantic District since 2023 and is a former member of the Universal Accreditation Board and PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards known as BEPS.

Registration for this luncheon will close a week prior to the event. After that time, members and guests wishing to attend in person will need to email the Chapter Administrator, [email protected] to see if space is still available or to be put on a waiting list if needed. Please RSVP early in order to ensure that you are included in the headcount for lunch! If you register as a guest and later determine that you cannot attend, please contact the chapter administrator, at [email protected]. You must cancel prior to three business days in advance of the meeting to be eligible for a refund. If you cancel after that deadline, you will still be responsible for the lunch payment and will be billed if you didn't already pay online. No-shows will be billed for the lunch.
